Before this commit, deinterlace=auto and deinterlace=yes had the same
exact behavior for d3d11 and vaapi, the only difference being that
`auto` would create/destroy the deinterlacing filter on every frame that
changed the deinterlace flag and with `yes`, we left that the
responsibility to determine whether to deinterlace or not to d3d11vpp
and vavpp and the filters were always inserted.
Inserting and removing filters on every frame the interlaced flag changes
is expensive and it will be more efficient to let the deinterlacing
filters handle this distinction instead.
With this change, `yes` works as it should: the filter is inserted
always and deinterlacing is forced regardless of the frame flag. `auto`
will insert the deinterlacing filter only when mpv sees the first
interlaced frame, and the filter will only deinterlace the frames marked
as interlaced. Note that perfect detection of interlaced frames is not
possible, and in such cases the user has to set `yes` manually.
One downside of this change is that we don't know if the filter is
actually deinterlacing or not, we can only guess that if the filter is
inserted and the frame is interlaced then it should be deinterlacing.
It's possible for it to fail for whatever reason, and it's also possible
future changes to ffmpeg (since bwdif implementation lives in ffmpeg),
might make the logic more complicated than this check. However, for now
this is good enough.
We should have done this ages ago. These commands essentially consist of
a combination of a load action and whether or not playback should be
started. The old `-play` aliases are kept for backwards compatibility.
This paragraph was added 10 years ago in f8dc5db315. Hooks are now
commonly used both in internal (ytdl_hook, auto_profiles) and external
scripts (e.g. https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues?q=mp.add_hook).
They are the only way to handle events synchronously and nobody is just
going to change the API and break all scripts at this point, so remove
the warning.
Currently, screenshot being scaled and the presence of OSD and subtitles
cannot be independently controlled. This adds osd and scaled flags to
screenshot commands that make it possible to e.g. take screenshots with
only OSD without subtitles, or take screenshots at scaled resolution
without OSD or subtitles.
The "window" flag is now an alias of scaled+subtitles+osd, and is kept
for convenience.
Reword this paragraph making it clear that as long as a and a-b are not
bound, the a-b-c binding works even if b is bound.
The 4-key limit for sequences was raised to 16 by a5dbf34094, because
MP_MAX_KEY_DOWN is used for both the number of keys that can be held
down and for the key history size. Just remove the related sentence
since you're never going to need sequences longer than 16 keys.
The documentation does not mention that using add/cycle to change
the property is subject to --chapter-seek-threshold option,
and the fact that a chapter number of -1 indicates a playback
position before the start of the first chapter.
Need to shuffle some stuff around but it's pretty simple. Mute the
audio stream before the frame step and then unmute it when we're done.
It's exactly the same as the default play mode otherwise.
We use the ext protocol, not the wlr specific protocol. Moreover,
"zwlr_data_control_manager_v1" is an interface within the protocol, not
the protocol name itself.
These were still set to float. For some common aspect ratios (e.g. like
4:3), the loss of precision is significant. The underlying calculations
are already done with doubles so all that needs to be done is to change
the type of the sub-property.
This reverts commit 86383aef95.
shutdown isn't actually sent on exit() but only with internal options,
e.g. set osc no, which isn't relevant for users.
shutdown is not sent only when the player quits, but also when
individual script are unloaded, either by calling exit() or by toggling
options like --osc.
This was already mentioned in javascript.rst so remove it from there.
Previously, the default behavior of frame-step and frame-back-step is to
play forward 1 frame or seek back 1 frame. We keep this behavior but
introduce additional flags to control the exact behavior of the frame
stepping. The first argument simply specifies how many frames to go
through. The second argument specifies whether to play video to step
through frames or to seek to step through frames. Playing through the
video to step through frames only works going forwards (otherwise it
will always seek). In theory we could use backwards playback for this,
but that can be decided later.
As a minor note, MPSEEK_BACKSTEP is renamed to MPSEEK_FRAMESTEP since
forward seeks can use this as well. Fixes#10128.
This adds a format parameter to screenshot-raw command which controls
the format of the returned image data. In addition to the bgr0 format,
this adds support for 3 other formats: bgra, rgba, rgba64.
bgra is used by overlay-add command and several window systems.
rgba and rgba64 are used by several GPU APIs and are the formats
returned by the gpu and gpu-next screenshot code, which avoid the need
for further format conversion (see convert_image function).
rgba64 also adds the ability to acquire high bit depth screenshots
for screenshot-raw command.
