This would cause mpv to, in some very specific scenarios, have a
negative vsync_offset after seeking which would result in mpv requesting
a pts before the first frame to libplacebo.
Fix it by setting it to 0 when we reset state, such as after seeking.
Fixes: https://github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/12813
This fixes warnings generated for `-Wunused-result` when mpv is built
with `-O1 -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=1` or higher on clang since read/write
functions are declared with the `warn_unused_result` attribute.
Cast to void to avoid these warnings.
Make it not possible to build mpv without the latest libplacebo anymore.
This will allow for less code duplication between mpv and libplacebo,
and in the future also let us delete legacy ifdefs and track libplacebo
better.
These are ancient and have existed since before stats.lua lived in the
mpv repository. We don't need to worry about ancient mpv versions
anymore, so remove these.
There was a discrepancy in what the keybind was advertised to do in the
manual, and what the comment in input.conf described it to be doing. It
makes very little sense to add a keybind that changes the default and
doesn't allow you to get back to the default. This keybind is much more
useful if it toggles between yes/force instead of no/force.
`demux->duration` is set to -1 on initialization, and some checks rely
on it being -1 when unknown. Before this commit, we set
`demux->duration` to 0 when unknown. This is incorrect and breaks rtsp
logic for disabling seeking outside of cached regions.
To fix these issues, initialize `total_duration` and `av_duration` at
-1. They're only changed if a real duration is detected, so in cases
where the duration is unknown, demux->duration is set to -1 correctly.
Fixes: e6afc53e7c ("demux_lavf: get total duration from track durations")
After fixing the B and C params for bcspline, it ended up being the same
thing as bicubic. There's no reason to have two names for the same
filter, so remove bcspline and keep bicubic to match libplacebo.
Before this change, mpv used to get the total duration from
`avformat_find_stream_info` and used the per-track duration as a
fallback. This change reverses this order of preference.
The timestamps returned by `avformat_find_stream_info` are truncated or
rounded or floored (depending on the decoder) at the 6th decimal place.
For e.g. `avformat_find_stream_info` may return us a duration like
44.138667, whereas the duration we get from the per-track struct has a
higher degree of precision like 44.13866666666... and so on.
This caused various problems such as the playback_pts being a bigger
value than the duration, which would cause time-remaining to be a
negative value in some cases. Or cause you to reach a negative starting
timestamp when looping on an audio file with `gapless-audio`.
Moreover, we already skipped calling `avformat_find_stream_info` for
mp4, so we had already been utilizing this per-track fallback method for
finding the duration for mp4 files. It should be noted that while this
change is only required for audio-only formats, there is no harm in
doing this for videos as well.
There are way too many preexisting scripts that rely on this behavior
for video panning, like for example scripts that allow you to use mpv as
an image viewer. If this behavior is desired then it may be better to
add a new option for panning relative to the destination instead.
The restriction of video-pan-x/y being clamped to {-3, 3} also results
in the video being impossible to pan if it was zoomed in beyond a
certain degree.
This reverts commit 7d6f9e3739.
DVD/PGS are definitely not common, and ones that make use of the forced
subpictures flag even less so. For this button to be useful, the
subtitle track would need to be DVD or PGS, the track would need to make
use of the forced flag, the user would have to know what forced
subpictures are, and the user would need to have the preference of only
viewing forced subpictures on a subtitle. The function of this button is
too niche to be on the osc, if this behavior is desired the user can
simply bind a key in their input.conf. Moreover, this button only adds
confusion because there's no intuitive way to show what it does, and
there's no explanation for it anywhere in the manuals. osc real-estate
is quite limited as it is, so let's not waste any space on buttons with
highly questionable utility at best and confusing or bad UX at worst.
Ideally, users should be using lavfi-complex instead of lavfi-bridge
for such a use case, however currently lavfi-complex doesn't support
hwdec. So we can allow filters with dynamic inputs to work with
lavfi-bridge, at the cost of them only being able to take in
only one input. This should probably be reverted when/if lavfi-complex
has hwdec, but for now this allows us to use libplacebo
as a video filter with hwdec in mpv again.
This ensures the spacing between forced-only sub toggle button and the
volume button matches the spacing between the volume and the fullscreen
button on bottombar/topbar layouts
Fixes: 945d7c1eda
Previously, we would have a button with empty string added to the layout
for non DVD/PGS subtitles. This would cause there to be an invisible
button present that would take up space and could still be clicked
despite being invisible when the current subtitle track was not DVD/PGS.
The idea was that the button would be invisible for regular subtitle
tracks, and be visible as "[ ]"/"[F]" for DVD/PGS subtitle tracks.
This commit modifies the bar and box layouts to only add this button if
the current subtitle track is DVD/PGS. This results in there no longer
being an invisible button, and also prevents it from taking up space.
The button is added to layout as before when the current subtitle track
is DVD/PGS, matching the same logic as before.
We should account for ao queue when setting playback position on EOF,
previously we were using the pts value corresponding to the start of
the ao queue, rather than the currently playing audio.
This fixes time-remaining being a negative number when mpv seeks to EOF
while playback is paused.
It's possible for systems to have multiple cards, and the first capable
card to not have a connected output. Skip such cards and continue
iterating until we find one with a connected output.
1df0a42a8c changed aspect-ratio from
floats to doubles, but forgot to change this function for
pretty-printing them as fractions for the video-aspect-override property
Currently, the osc will add a margin of (osc_height / 2) to the
deadzonesize for the window controls, the topbar and the bottombar,
i.e. when osc-deadzonesize=1, the osc will show up even if the cursor
is only hovering (osc_height / 2) pixels above or below it. This is not
what this option is supposed to do according to the manual, instead
osc-deadzonesize=1 should result in the osc only appearing when it is
directly hovered. The user can simply set osc-deadzonesize=0.9 or so if
such a margin is desired, instead make the option work as advertised by
removing this margin.
It should be noted that osc-layout=box does not share this behavior,
and it already works as advertised in the manual.
Libass commit f08f8ea5 (between 0.16 and 0.17) changed how PlayResX
affects some aspects of rendering.
The libass change fixes a VSFilter compatibility issue which existed
for about two decades, and there are no libass plans to support the
previous behavior, so ultimately we have to adjust the mpv code, and
we can't guarantee to restore the old behavior in all cases.
Starting at this commit, vector drawing coords, font spacing, border
and shadow widths are all affected by PlayResX (specifically, by
the aspect), while previously they were unaffected by PlayResX.
This changed converted sub border and shadow widths in mpv, because
ffmpeg generates the ass with fixed PlayResX of 384 (aspect of 4:3),
and with libass 0.17, if this doesn't match the display aspect, then
borders and shadow were too wide - because most clips aspect is more
than 4:3.
The fact that ffmpeg uses fixed PlayResX of 384 could be considered
an issue, but for now we have no control over it, and ffmpeg doesn't
have the video resolution when it converts an srt source to ass.
So here we adjust PlayResX accordingly so that border/shadows are
now rendered with correct width.
However, regardless of that commit, changing PlayResX also affects
the margin value, so to compensate, we adjust sub-margins-x too.
According to libass devs, this should cover basic srt-to-ass
conversion by ffmpeg to work correctly with libass 0.17.
However, there could be srt extensions which use more complex ass,
and/or ffmpeg conversion of other sub formats (such as aribb24,
aribcaption and movtext), where more things need adjustments.
As of now we don't know what these are, and so we don't really know
what else might remain broken or get broken.
libplacebo v6.265.0 removed v4 deprecations. We already require
PL_API_VER >= 202, so we don't need to wrap
pl_tex_transfer_params.row_pitch around a conditional, which exists
since PL_API_VER >= 168. However, pl_source_frame.duration does not exist until
PL_API_VER >= 219, so we should use a conditional directive.
